Help data entry by describing your field

Overview Naming Descriptions Default Values Formula Hidden fields Resetting

Clearly describing a field is a crucial aspect of data collection. A custom field description is offered in the form of a tooltip.

A tooltip serves as a concise explanation of a field, providing clarity about the data it represents, directly on the page. While all fields have labels to indicate their names, there are instances where a more detailed description is necessary.

A tooltip button will become visible when you hover over or near the field name. When you move away from the field, the tooltip will disappear. However, when you hover near the field again, the tooltip is displayed until you close it. To close the tooltip, simply click on the icon or the help text. Below is an example of a tooltip next to the label.

Tooltip Location: While most tooltips are positioned next to the label, this placement may not be suitable for all field types, such as buttons and files. Explore examples for various field types and features like groups to see where tooltips are displayed.
